Client Intro:

Country Wine & Spirits started off as a family business (over 3 generations strong) and has maintained strong relationships with some of the finest distributors and manufacturers in the U.S. The company has 7 brick-and-mortar stores in the San Diego area and carries over $17 million worth of inventory of the world’s leading brands.

Problem:

The company, although very strong with in-person sales, had always thought about venturing into the online space, but never had the expertise to do so. But in 2020, due to the COVID pandemic, the owners were forced to expand into the online space. With in-person alcohol sales coming to a halt, and global logistics issues forcing many retail stores out of business, CWS was in the position to win through the combination of SEO and PPC.

Solution:

Our team of ad specialists began the ad campaign on Google with a strong focus on the most popular brands like Angel’s Envy, Johnny Walker, Don Julio, and Tito’s Vodka. These campaigns immediately brought sales to the website at incredible ROAS (as high as 15x). As the account matured, we expanded our focus into product category-focused campaigns to maneuver around OOS issues and diversify the campaign’s ad sets. Now, 2 years into managing this alcohol website, we have become the go-to subject area experts in alcohol, creating successful ad campaigns for niche products like Soda Jerk, Cocktail Caviar, and Kyodie whiskey. We’ve also been able to expand our reach outside of Google, by optimizing ads on both FB and Tiktok. 

Result:

As of April 2022 (after 2 years of running the campaigns from scratch) the site has grown its site sales to over $330,000 per month, with PPC campaigns maintaining an average ROAS of 5x. During the holiday season, reaching as high as $612,000 per month. The project is ongoing.
